Typically, ERs are a challenging setting and the place where some of the most important decisions and procedures regarding IPC and patient care are first implemented, including adequate screening and isolation of patients, safe practices around invasive procedures, appropriate diagnosis of infection and selection of antimicrobial therapy. 
This module is mainly dedicated to professionals involved in ER activities, namely the teams responsible for infection prevention, antimicrobial management and diagnostics in the ER, as well as doctors, nurses and pharmacists working in this context.

Intended audience:  

Medical doctors and pharmacists, nurses or other healthcare professionals with an MSc or PhD are eligible.

Objectives: 

The main objective of the this module of the EUCIC Infection Prevention and Control Certificate, Antimicrobial, Infection Prevention and Diagnostic Stewardship in the Emergency Room: Simulation to enhance practice, is to contribute to quality and patient safety in the ER by reviewing best practices and integrating simulation as a major training component.
